That Moment
-Khushi Rissam

It was on my birthday when we decided to donate some food in an orphanage. I was fine with the idea but I was not happy because then I would not be able to to to involve ourselves in social work. When my birthday finally arrived and I was going to that orphanage, I was a bit nervous as it was first experience. When I reached there and got an entry, the first thing I saw was a guard who was very delighted to see us and I thought why is she reacting like this because we were making an ordinary donation When my birthday finally arrived and I was going to that orphanage, I was a bit nervous as it was first experience. When I reached there and got an entry, the first thing I saw was a guard who was very delighted to see us and I thought why is she reacting like this because we were making an ordinary donation. Then we went to the main office where the Orphan Caretaker was waiting for us. We gave the food and other stuff to her and when we came out Is awesome children peeping from their windows and waving at us. I saw some boys playing with ball and girls chit-chatting with each other. I don't know what happened there but the moment just mesmerized me. I could easily see how happy they were to see us. I realized that even if a lot of people lack a lot of things in their lives, still they get happy with what they have. That time I realized why the guard was happy to see us because a small donation will bring a big change to the lives of various people. That experience changed my life as I learnt how important it is to care for the society. Our lives are bigger than what we think it is. From this experience I decided to involve myself in social work and now I am here working at YEF.
