Lending a helping hand
In the continuously growing and evolving society we have to move forward together and help each other out so that no one is left behind. Help must always be given to the needy and this motivation should be in every individual. Mrs Madhuri Sharma who is a lawyer by profession and one of the founding members of Women Freemasons of India is motivated towards working for the society. She joined the Women Freemasons in 2016 and is currently acting as a Charity Officer and have helped the society with many drives and campaigns.
The organisation mainly focuses on girl child education. The pilot project that they undertook have helped three girls from the leprosy colony in Tahirpur with their education and tuition. The first girl that they undertook was in grade 10 and is now doing BSC in Nursing from Jamia University. The second one was given assistance for doing a lab technician course which helped her in securing an internship at Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Shahdra. The third girl has been taken care of since grade 5 with her education and turns out to be a topper of the class currently studying in grade 8.
Adding to their other projects, one of their campaign helped in the distribution of special shoes for
around fifty five leprosy patients, also, these shoes are customized to fit for each and every patient. Another campaign of 30 benches were distributed in the charity done for a government school in Hyderabad as the children used to sit on the floor and learn. In that particular event, one of the donor came up to the dice and distributed carpets as well for the children to sit on.
Personal hygiene and remaining clean is very important to stay healthy and not catch a disease. So, to encourage the young girls to inculcate the habit of hygiene they started a drive and distributed sanitary napkins and have also organised lectures on personal hygiene and dental hygiene for the inmates of Tihar jail. The organisation is full of professionals and every member is self reliant who is willing to put their best for the society.
A chance should be given to the people to prove that they can do well. At the end, a message for the society which Mrs Sharma wants to convey is “ People should come forward and help the people who are in need”. We should always lend a helping hand to the needy as every individual should get an equal opportunity and also, to get a chance and prove themselves.
