It leads to a women’s crisis as in our country we have seen that women travel long distances to collect water for their family, which affects their health as they walk even in the day’s scorching heat or in the chilly night hours. This activity consumes their time from the working hours of the day. Young girls also travel to collect water, and this consumes their time from their school hours. Women get less time to take care of their families at home. If safe drinking water is available to everyone, then women will get more time to work and come out of the dire problems of poverty. Nearly 1 million people die due to the lack of safe drinking water and proper sanitation, a health crisis. It is noted that every 2 minutes, a child dies due to a lack of safe water and hygiene issues. If proper facilities are available to them, it will reduce the infant and maternal mortality rates.

During this Pandemic, it has become a significant necessity to have safe drinking water. Children’s and education crises as at many places children are responsible for collecting and bringing heavy loads of water for the family, which reduces their time from school hours and activity hours. If proper and safe water is available for them, they will have sufficient hours to study and play and have a bright future. Water crisis propels economic crisis as people spend most of their time collecting water, which reduces their working hours and leads to poverty and financial crisis; if safe water is available such problems could be prevented. According to the Central Ground Water Report, the weather changes in India, which is leading to an increase in droughts, have left India as water-stressed 256/700 districts have reported critical or overexploited groundwater levels. Water scarcity is majorly due to the rising population, and a proper water management system is the need of the hour.

Rooftop Water Harvesting, Forestation, Growing plants that consume less water, disposing of the polluted water in such a way that it does not pollute the river downstream are some ways to reduce the impact of the water crisis.
