CHILD ABUSE

CHILD ABUSE

Childhood is the most important time in a person's life. It is unconcerned with worry or anxiety, and it is unconcerned about good or evil. It's a time when people are both ignorant and innocent. However, some individuals, oblivious to the idea that a kid is a gift from God, mistreat them to the point where their future is permanently damaged. Abuse is defined as the inappropriate use of a person, generally for the purpose of unjustly or improperly gaining advantage. There are many types of abuse. One of them is child abuse.
The World (WHO) defines child abuse and child maltreatment as "all forms of physical and/or emotional ill treatment, sexual abuse, neglect or negligent treatment or commercial or other exploitation, resulting in actual or potential harm to the child's health, survival, development or dignity in the context of a relationship of responsibility, trust or power.” Child abuse is a crime described as the intentional or unintentional hurting; physically, emotionally, or sexually of any child. It can happen anywhere, at their homes, in the schools, parks etc. The most common forms of child abuse are as follows:
∙ Physical abuse - It includes hitting, slapping, punching, kicking, hair-pulling, biting, pushing rough handling and burning and physical punishments etc. Any form of physical abuse can have significant long-term repercussions for children as they grow up.
∙ Sexual abuse - A young person under the age of 16 .is not allowed to agree to sexual conduct, according to the law. It includes rapes, inappropriate touch anywhere, inappropriate looking, sexual teasing etc. These also include non-contact behaviours such as minors seeing or participating in the production of pornographic content or witnessing sexual activity. Research by the NSPCC found that 72 percent of sexually abused children do not tell anyone about what happened at the time
∙ Psychological or emotional abuse - It includes scaring, humiliating, isolating and ignoring the child.
∙ Discriminatory abuse - This is biasness that generally happens with girls and disabled children.
∙ Bullying - It is a deliberate hurtful behaviour. It is frequently repeated over time and happens when individuals who are bullied find it impossible to defend themselves. It can manifest in a variety of ways, but the three most common are physical, verbal, and emotional. Bullying may create such anguish in youngsters that it has a negative impact on their health and development.
Abusing a kid is as severe as murdering a person because children are naturally vulnerable, and whatever abuse they experience in their early years leaves a permanent mark on their minds. The child's heart is filled with grief whenever his or her memory flashes back to the atrocities he or she has suffered throughout their lives, no matter how pleasant that moment may be. Regardless of how hard the youngster tries to ignore or delete such memories, all he or she achieves is frustration. Some child abuse victims lose their confidence and
become introverts for the rest of their life. Child abuse is on the rise and has an impact on every element of a child's life.
In the end, I would conclude by saying that childhood is the most wonderful time of one's life, and it is believed that God dwells in the heart of a kid. Abusing a kid is an act of disrespecting the God you claim to believe in. Because a child's heart is tender and devoid of all types of cares and fears, even minor misbehaviour with him makes an indelible imprint on his/her mind.
